Interventions: Facilitation of access to financial services for the Kongwa communities for them to be able to purchase sanitation facilities.

The overall goal of the GSF Programme in Tanzania, known as Usafi wa Mazingira Tanzania (UMATA), is to contribute to the attainment of sustainable ODF environments through behavior change and improved sanitation through specific interventions in three districts in the Dodoma Region of Tanzania. The goal of the UMATA Programme is “Communities attain and sustain open defecation free status, households and institutions gain, increased access and use of improved sanitation facilities coupled with changed sanitation and hygiene behaviors at scale.”
